Hii Team,

In AN-1820 LM5032 Interleaved Boost Converter, separate current sensing is used for two boost converters (ie for each inductor). Is it possible to design control algorithm for an interleaved boost converter with single current sensing (ie input current alone). If not what are the problems associated with the same?

(ie. is it possible to have a two level interleaved boost converter with single current sensing)

Hi Tata,

It can't implement Interleaved boost with only one phase current sensing.

Hi Teng,

Can you point out the problems associated with sensing the total current (sum of current through both inductors) instead of taking individual current ?

it is difficult to control two phases independently with only one current signal.
