Hello,
My customer is looking for a buck converter device like TPS54A29 spec but OVP is auto retry, not latched.
What devices does TI recommend?
Best regards,
K.Hirano
Hello Hirano-san,
In this case, a buck converter device you might be interested in would be TPS548B27. This device offers the auto-retry or "hiccup" feature you are looking for. Refer to page 21 in the datasheet, section 7.3.12.
Thanks,
Calan
Calan,
Thank you for your response.
But, just in case, let me confirm again to 100% make sure.
Please refer to the following E2E thread, TPS54A29 datasheet 7.2.12 also says the same, but OVP is latched not "hiccup" at TPS54A29.
https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/1010044/tps548a29-latched-or-auto-retry-for-ovp-faults
At TPS548B27, OVP is really "hiccup"?
How about TPS548B28?
Best regards,
K.Hirano
Hello Hirano-san,
TPS548A29 is indeed OVP latched, not hiccup.
TPS548B28 is also OVP latched, not hiccup. There is a typo in the datasheet section 7.3.12. It addresses that OVP is hiccup but that is incorrect. OVP is latched for this device.
TPS548B27 is OVP hiccup.
Best regards,
Calan
