TPS65250: Dying Gasp

Part Number: TPS65250

Hi,

Good Day. Customer is working on a design with TPS65250. Our Input voltage is 5V and Outputs are 1.1V, 3.3V, 4.2V. I need Dying Gasp feature to support this design. How he will set Dying Gasp release voltage? He need to design the circuit with 5V input having Dying Gasp feature.

Please advise. Thank you very much.

Best Regards,

Ray Vincent

  • Hi Ray,

Thanks for reaching out. I will check and get back to you soon. Really thanks!

  • Hi Ray,

The release voltage is 10.5V for TPS65250. Once the input voltage drops below a release voltage of 10.5 V, the circuit tries to transfer charge from storage capacitor to the input capacitor keeping the input voltage closer to release value for as long as possible. This release voltage can fit well for 12Vin application.

I do find a reference design about 5/12Vin application which related with Hold Up Energy Storage Solution. tidu506.pdf Not sure whether it will be helpful.

Let me know if there is anything unclear. Really thanks!
