LM46000: spec of Tcase(max)?

Hi,

Do we have Tcase(max) spec of LM46000 & LM46001?

I can only find Tjunction in datasheet.

    Hi Jim,

    The temp difference between T_junction and T-case depends on the IC power loss, so there is no spec for T-case.

    ψJT Junction-to-top characterization parameter is 0.8C/W, IC power loss normally below 1.5W, so Tcase is almost same as T-J with difference <1.2C.

    Hi Andy,

    Thanks for reply.

    One more question, in datasheet thermal shutdown threshold is typical 160 degreeC but recommandded max junction temp. is 120 degreeC.

    How is the device going if the junction temp. is between 120~160 degreeC?

    Or the thermal sense inside the device is not to sense junction temp.?

    Hi Jim,

    the product is specified for Tj below 120C, the Electrical Characteristics is not guaranteed between Tj 120C and 160C, thermal sense circuit keeps working to prevent Tj higher than 160C.
