I read thru the posts on the failures of the TPS65987EVM and do not see the resolution on this Testing.

We are about to plan and proceed with purchase: pl advise the safe approach, At the end of this testing, we would like to add a statement in our product brochure that it complies with USB C PD Specifications. Is that going to be possible?

In the UCC28782EVM document, they mention PM110.

It cannot be found anywhere.

We are not yet ready to fork out $1000 bucks for testing with anything other than Electronic load, maybe HPIB.

A real question is : does the UCC28782 circuit maintain its efficiency when outputs go down to 5V ?

How does the xmfrmr behave over this large change in output? What specific control aspects of UCC28782 kick in the make this possible?

We understand the role of the WT6636 chip: but surely cannot control UCC28782.

Any clarification on this will be highly appreciated

Hi Robin,

The TPS65987D is certified by the USB-IF for PD3.0 (TID#: 1067). The TPS65987EVM (which contains a TPS65987D) should have no issues with PDO contracts and negotiations. Since that post, we have updated our GUI and FW which should have solved many major issues presented. Do you know which PD variant (firmware) you're using? I'll double check with my team to confirm and let you know by tomorrow.
