TPS66021: Temp Range

"We currently have a product using the TPS66021 part, but we noticed the temperature range is from -10 to 85 vs. the standard -40 to 85.  Has this always been the temperature range of the part or was the range updated on the latest release of the data sheet?  What is the cause for the limitation on the low end?  What if we run the part to -40?  I'd like to understand the impact of this to our system.  Our input voltages to the device are 5V on both the inputs with one being directly from the USB port and the other power input is from a switching regulator."

    Hi Sagar, 

    I would need to check in with the team and see what the exact temperature range is. In the datasheet for the TPS66021, you can look on page 4 for the absolute maximum ratings (storage temperature ranges from -55 to 150 Celsius) however these are absolute ratings and it's not advise to push those limits. Refer to the recommended operating conditions below:

    Hi Sagar,

    The temperature range is where the device is tested and ensure proper functionality. If the product is put outside of the temperature range, we can't guarantee full functionality working without issues. As mentioned before, please see the datasheet for recommended and maximum operating conditions.
