TPS68470: Alternative solution for TPS68470

Hi Abin,

Unfortunately we do not have an equivalent PMIC to the TPS68470 that is qualified by Intel. Is there any technical issue behind this request, or is it strictly due to the supply concern?

Any alternate solution will need to be partially discrete such as PMIC (buck and LDOs) + discrete LED driver + etc. Do you have a customer schematic showing the required functionality from the TPS68470?

TPS68470 is designed in new project, could you send me the TI discrete solutions information? 

This is a just kicked-off projects, so they can change design for sure.

The discrete solution will vary depending on which TPS68470 features the customer intends to use. For example, not all customers need the ILED drivers. Does the customer have a block diagram or similar to evaluate?

Hi Abin,

A discrete solution can achieve similar HW functionality but not necessarily the same SW functionality. From a SW perspective, a discrete solution would likely have a significantly different configuration sequence from the TPS68470. If the customer requires the same HW and SW functionality from the power solution, the best approach is to use the TPS68470.
