BQ24765: Charging Current Limits

Part Number: BQ24765

Hi Experts,

Our customer is performing a charging current test on this part, they see the datasheet states 512mA. And is asking if they will see a test failure if testing the charging current using 1A?

We were able to determine by referring to section 8.5.3 of the datasheet as shown below. When using a 10-mΩ sense resistor, the bq24765 provides a charge current range of 128 mA to 8.064 A, with 128 mA resolution.

Now, customer is asking, If they are carrying out performance testing of the raw part (not fitted to a PCBA) for qualification purposes, can they perform a charging current check at 1A or should we perform this at 512mA?

I hope you can help us. Thank you.

Kind regards,
Gerald
