TPS2549-Q1: How to recognize OTG?

Hello team,

Would you please help to answer OTG related question?

When connecting a phone (Apple carplay) to headunit through TPS2549-Q1, the headunit will act as a slave.

By the way, how does the headunit know if the carplay is connected? Does it need an indicating signal like ID pin? Otherwise, should it recognize only using HNP(Host Negotiation Protocol)?

Hi Sam,

TPS2549-Q1 only act as a charging detect. It also integrates a USB D+/D- switch and will turn on the switch after the power is established, but it does not in charge of USB device detection and negotiation. So if the D+/D- switch turned on, subsequent USB detection and negotiation have nothing to do with TPS2549-Q1.
