TPS61178: TPS61178 Large inductance noise

Part Number: TPS61178

hi TI,

The inductance squeaks during the use of the customer. After the resistance of FREQ / SYNC pin is changed from 300K to 100k, the inductance squeaks disappear, but the output power drops. Please help analyze the reason. The schematic diagram is shown in the following figure:

  • Hi Zhang,

I have some questions about your issue.

    1. you mentioned your inductance squeaks when resistance of FREQ / SYNC pin is 300K. In this situation the switching frequency should be around 500kHz which will not cause acoustic noise. Can you check if there exists low frequency ripple in the circuit? You can have a test of Vin IL SW and Vo to see if they are stable.

    2. When change the resistance to 100K, the output voltage drops. Could you describe it clearly? like the input , output ,load and so on. It will be fine if there is a waveform.

    Best Regards

    Fergus
