TPS54424: Recommended alternate solution

Hi Maitry,

You need to separate each part with separated post since they are from different support team. I am only supporting TPS54424. 

We don't have P2P compatible part for TPS54424. What is your application requirement? Vin, Vout and Iout? Can customer accept different package part?

Ok got it, in this forum, I will be communicating for TPS54424 only. 

Actually, we do not have the P2P compatible requirement, it is ok to have the different package part. the input voltage requirement is 5 V and output voltage requirement is 3.6 V. Current rating requirement: 4 A. 

Actually, this dc dc converter is used in my evaluation board for above purpose. and we are looking for the alternate DC DC converter which is compatible in terms of technical specifications including ON time , LDO input to powergood output ON time .

As we are using this DC DC converter's power good to enable further DC DC converter.  That means our power on sequencing is dependent on the time duration of one DC DC converter's powergood. So if we are going for the alternate option for TPS54424, then we need to make sure that the time duration it takes from input voltage to output to generate power good signal should be same as TPS54424. 

That's why , I have raise the query in to this, as different package will be ok. but there is a requirement of compatible converter with exact matching technical specifications including timing constraints. 

Request you to provide your views.

I understand your situation. I am only supporting the Buck converter with output current lower than 3A and not familiar with >4A part. Could you create a new post with part number TPS54824? Then high current team will give your suggestion for alternate part.

Thank you for the support. Can you share the alternate part number for TPS54424 with current lower than 3 A? that can follow the same technical specifications as per TPS54424.

I would recommend TPS543320, TPS62903 and TPS62913. Please take a look at those datasheets. They are all 3A part.

Hello Nancy, 

Thank you for the recommended parts. the issue is that, stock is not available for these recommended parts also (I have checked with the distributor as well). we need to procure as early as possible. Is it possible from TI end to provide support on this out of stock power management ICs ti have it as early as possible. because almost all power management ICs are out of stock. and we are hoping to use the TI chips as it was proven in our evaluation board.

Hi Nancy,

We have gone through the given recommended part number suggested from your end. out of which, For these 2 IC,TPS62903 and TPS62913 when compare with TPS55424, It is very different in terms of functionality. 

TPS543320 is suitable and have 95% functionality matched with TPS54424 , but still the timing from Enable /input to output and power good is different. So, I am assuming , weather it is possible to have exact functionality in terms of timing (input to output & power good)? If there any any possible solution that TI Can provide, please let us know.
