We got the return issue when using Vin = 26V. (Typ = 12V)
VIN/FB/EN/Vcc short to GND. Vin-SW was also short. We did some experiments. (Let IC in normal operation and then short Vboot to SW)
And then we gave Vin = 12V and 26V. We found the IC damaged when Vin = 26V, but 12V is ok. We also found that the Vcc/Vin/SW short to GND and VIN-SW was also short. But compare to above, boot pin in this case was also damaged. (short to GND)
The fault behavior is similar, but we are not sure if this is the root cause. But We are not sure why the IC damaged when we short boot pin to SW pin when Vin = 26V. Can you give us some comments? Thank you.
