TPS1HB08-Q1: Current Limit Threshold

Part Number: TPS1HB08-Q1

Hi Team,

May I know why the current limit threshold of RILIM=GND, open, or out of range only marked a typical value? Is this means there is no range of the threshold in these conditions? Customer is asking if we have a minimum value. Can we consider 42/104A as the minimum value as threshold?

  • Hi Frank,

For Version A and Version B devices, we recommend using a current limit resistor from 5kOhm(max CL) to 25kOhm(min CL). Connecting the ILIM pin to GND or leaving floating is considered a fault condition of the device. We provide the typical value only here as a means to show that in a situation if the ILIM resistance shorts to GND, the device will still be capable of protecting itself. The accuracy in this region of operation is not specified.

For maximum current limit we highly recommend using Version F. Version F is considered the highest specified current limit that is specified for this device.

    Thanks,

    Shreyas
