Hi, the circuit that was used in the original thread TPS24720: schematic design review shows the voltage and current requirements. It was my colleague who asked for the schematic review.

I need an automotive version of TPS24720.

V2 = 3.3V @ 18A No Solution
V3 = 3.3V_Aux @ 6A TPS25940-Q1

Can we use TPS1HB08A-Q1? Our requirement is 3.3V @ 18A. The nominal supply voltage is 6-18 but the datasheet says "Extended supply voltage" is 3-28. What is extended supply voltage? How do we use this in a 3.3V application to limit the current to 18A?

Hi Gary,

TPS1HB08 cannot be used in DC operation in the extended supply range. This range is meant for transients like cold crank condition.

Another major concern is the DC current as 18A is much larger than what the device is rated to handle.
