TPS1HB08-Q1: How to measure the junction temperature of the TPS*HB series and TPS*H series

Part Number: TPS1HB08-Q1

Hello Support Team,

What is the recommended method for measuring the junction temperature of the device that haven't temperature output by SMS pin?(ex.TPS1HB08F or TPS1HB16F)

regards,

Takanori

  • Ishigami-san,

We have no specific recommendation for measuring the junction temperature for Version F devices.

A external sensor can be used to measure the junction temperature or the sns current can be converted into a approximate temperature in an MCU by calculation.

The output of the SNS pin is a fraction of the load current. I^2 * R_on (max) will provide the worst case DC power dissipation of the junction. Please not that this is just an approximation.

    Thanks,

    Shreyas
