UC1708-SP: Unused Channels?

Part Number: UC1708-SP

Hi Team,

I have a different question on the UC1708-SP. If I’m only using one of the two outputs, what is your recommendation for the INPUT and OUTPUT pins of the unused channel for lowest power consumption?

Thanks!

Connor

  • Hey Connor,

The suggestion is to keep the outputs floating and tie the inputs to a stable voltage.

If you have the outputs tied to something you will have the device forcing extra drive and perhaps shorting
(You could also have a small capacitance)

The inputs are safest tied to something that will keep the output low.
This will make it so noise wont have the output switch.

    Thanks,
    Daniel
