UCC27324: can UCC27324 NC pins be left floating but not connected to GND?

Part Number: UCC27324
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5111, , UCC27624

hi team,

my customer is using UCC27324 as a second source of LM5111, but the layout of LM5111 has been fixed with NC pins floating.

so can our UCC27324 NC pins be left floating? will it make any potential risk? thanks very much!

  • Hello Kelly,

I checked and these NC pins seem to be true no connects. They aren't connected to the die at all. The datasheet likely suggests to ground them for noise purposes. I doubt it will cause issues if they are floating.

By the way UCC27624 is the newer generation part in this family. While it has enable pins instead of NC pins on 1 and 8, they are internally pulled up so they can be left floating. So that is another P2P option as well.

    Thanks,

    Alex M.
