TPS65273V: 4V with I2C

Part Number: TPS65273V

Hello E2E,

If I set a resistor divider on the output, can I change the range that I can program over I2C?  The DS calls out 1.95Vout as the max you can program over I2C, but if I add in a resistor divider, can I change this range?  I am assuming it would also increase the step size of 10mV in this process as well?

Thanks!

Russell

  • Hi Russell,

Thanks for reaching out. It's not recommended to use TPS65273V in this way. In theory, you can add a resistor to increase the output voltage, but there is a risk: Due to the internal divider resistor is matched well, under different temperature, different corner, the ratio of internal divider resistor is fixed, TI can assure the Vout accuracy without external resistor.

But the external resistor is independent of internal divider resistor, so under different temperature, different corner, Vout will have big variation. It's not recommended to use TPS65273V in this way.

Anything unclear, kindly let me know. Thanks!
