Hi Brian,
For MC78M12BDTRKG our UA78M12CKVURG3 will be P2P with extremely similar specs.
For MC79M12BDTRKG we do not have any P2P option, however LM2990 has the same output voltage option and can handle twice the output current, 1A.
I do have some concerns regarding the ambient temperature of your application. What is your load current and input voltage for both of these LDOs?
I'm asking since both the competitor devices and our devices will go above 150ºC junction temperature assuming the minimum Vin-Vout differential and a load current of 500mA. I calculated this with the formula below:
TJ = TA + (Vin-Vout)*Iout*RJA
