Hi TI expert,

below is LM5143 reference design schematic from customer, If low side diode part in red is shortage.

what is the consideration to select this diode to replace onsemi NRVBA160NT3G?

Hi William,

There is no need for this diode as the deadtime is so short. They can leave it unpopulated.

ok, one more question. if for other VR controller IC

what's the consideration(VF,IR...) to choose diode in this application?

here are test conditions.

INPUT VOLTAGE 8~32V (typical 24V car battery)

load dump 58V(350ms)

Hello William,

Make sure the VRRM is rated to the Max VIN voltage. Best to use a Schottky as it does not have any Qrr and also make sure its Junction capacitance at the rated voltage is minimum and the the same. Also make sure the forward voltage rating is minimum and similar too.
