LMR33640EVM: Negative voltage

Genius 9880 points
Part Number: LMR33640EVM

Hi Team,

In the attached schematic, can you please confirm if this can be apply using the EVM.

Basically customer want to have a negative voltage of -/+5V. Do they need to order the second LMR33640EVM and make the connection between the 2 cards to have +5V and -5V ?

Thank you.

Regards,
May

  • Hello May,

Please refer to this app note for more details on the IBB conversion and operation (https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snva856b/snva856b.pdf).

The connection you've shown on PSPICE looks correct. The power supply is connected to 0V. For buck converter the supply is connected between VIN and GND. For IBB converter the supply is connected between VIN and -VOUT.

Also wanted to mention to look at Section 7.4 for the output clamp since this negative supply is used in conjunction with a positive rail.

    Regards,

    Jimmy
