Hi Expert,

Our customer needs a automotive boost converter. The boost Vin is 3.3, Vout is 5V and Iout is 1.2A. I suppose TPS61085-Q1 can cover it. I want to double confirm with you if it works or do you have better recommendations? Thanks.

Hi Elec,

I think TPS61033-Q is a better option, it's a new device that is APL. Customer can apply for samples now, and it will be RTM in 2023-3Q.

The schedule may not meet. And the customer prefer existing device so they won't qualify new device. Any other option? Thanks.

If that, I think TPS61085-Q TPS61087-Q are both fine.

The customer wants to use TPS61085A-Q1 in this case. The boost Vin is 3.3, Vout is 5V and Iout is 1.2A. Ma you help recommend the inductor value and the comp network value? Thanks.

Hi Elec,

Sorry that after double checking efficiency curve of TPS61085A-q1, I think TPS61087-Q1 maybe more suitable for support 5V/1.2A output.

For inductor, if fs=1.2MHz, use 3.3uH is fine, or if fs=650kHz use 6.8uH is fine.

For comp networks, you can take this section in datasheet as reference. Thanks.
