BQ34Z110: Battery Level Threshold Question

Hello,

I am looking at this feature in the bq34z110.

If one of these alerts is programmed for a battery level threshold, and an alert is activated, does it automatically de-activate when the battery level is back above the threshold or does the alert need to be cleared with a chip command?

    The alert needs to be cleared by sending one of the BLT*Set() commands

    Hi Shirish,

    Thanks you for the response.

    Are we sure?

    These seem to hint the BLT is cleared when certain charge or discharge thresholds are met. (certainly it clears if these are ever updated.)

    Is it sure changing to a CHARGE or DISCHARGE mode, by external application of charging or loads, does not clear the BLT?

    Hello Connor,

    I am not 100% sure if it will not clear automatically. The behavior can be checked by exercising the feature. IMO for robust system design, there must be different thresholds for charge and discharge. Monitoring by the host would be required(if using the feature). This would require the host to write the next threshold which would result in clearing BLT.
