UCC28782EVM-030: How can we know that OVP can be latched at different output voltage

Part Number: UCC28782EVM-030

Hi team,

I know we can use type-c PD to achieve different Vout (5V/9V/15V/20V), but how to judge the OVP can be latched at different Vout?

BR,

Jimmy

  • Hello Jimmy,

The OVP latching is valid only at the highest Vout setting set by the Rvs1 and Rvs2 resistors on the VS input.
The USB controller can command lower output voltages, but only the 20-V OVP will trigger an OVP response and latch off.

For lower voltage OVPs, I think it falls on the USB controller to detect OV for each lower voltage and latch off the USB output.

    Regards,
    Ulrich
