BQ78350-R2-DEVICE-FW: 100Ah Cell Chemistry

Part Number: BQ78350-R2-DEVICE-FW

Hi,

Is there a 100AH (15series cell 43,5V-54,5V) cell chemistry suitable BQ78350R2? Cells are LiFePO4.  Could you help me this issue?

Best Regards,

KT

  • The bq78350 uses coulomb counting as the basis for gauging (it's a CEDV gauge). As long as your system can handle EDV settings that are below the knee of the voltage curve (over temperature and typical loads), the gauge will work with LiFePO4.

You'd have to use current scaling (with a smaller sense resistor than typical) for a 100Ah pack as this gauge can't handle more than 65.535 Ah. For example, use a 1/10 sense resistor so that the current that the gauge measures is divided by 10 and the gauge will "view" the pack as a 10Ah pack. This assumes that the currents are high enough (which they likely are for a 100Ah pack).
