LM61460: Clarification on VIN1 and VIN2

Part Number: LM61460

Hi Team,

Regarding the LM61460AANRJRR, our customer would like to know if there is any technical reason for the pins VIN1 & VIN2 and PGND1 & PGND2 to have different description. The datasheet block diagram shows these pins are internally connected together.

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hi Danilo,

The reason the IC package was split up this way was to encourage customers to design their PCB layout with a split VIN approach to reduce parasitic inductance that normally occurs when all input capacitors are on one side of the VIN. Please have customer route their PCB layout follow layout guidelines specified in the datasheet.

    VIN1 & VIN2 are internally connected, same for PGND1 & PGND2.

    Regards,

    Jimmy
