UCC2804: Parameter conditions for open loop voltage gain

Part Number: UCC2804

I am doing a qualification on part UCC2804QDREP and I wanted to know all conditions necessary to get the measurement that TI got for the open loop voltage gain test.  The minimum value is 60 dB according to the data sheet.  How is that value obtained.  Please explain all conditions for the measurement of Open loop voltage gain test.

  • Hi Veronica,

I am checking with the internal team about this. I will let you know when I have an update.

    Thanks,

    Joseph

  • Hi Veronica,

We don't have information to share on the specific test setup used to measure the open loop voltage gain of the error amplifier.

To clarify, are you asking specifically about the error amplifier open loop response, or the converter gain/phase? The converter gain/phase will depend on the specific application of the device, the error amplifier open loop gain is typically very large (1000 or 60dB in this case) so biasing the FB pin a few mV from VREF/2 and measuring the COMP pin would give an estimation of this gain. For a 60dB gain, with a 5mV error signal would give a 5V output on the COMP pin. You can reference the functional block diagram figure 9.2 in the datasheet to help understand the internal connection of the error amplifier.

Let me know if this helps.

    Thanks,

    Joseph
