REF3425-EP: REF34xx-EP enable pin - datasheet unclear

Part Number: REF3425-EP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: REF3425,

Hi All,

I have a problem buying the REF34xx and Ref35xx parts. The only one available is the REF3425-TEP

But our application needs the enable pin. The -EP datasheet only shows the pinout including the enable pin.

Does the -EP version have the enable? The datasheet shows it only with the enable?

Very confusing - does anyone know this?

I will either be blamed for delays in ordering or for ordering the wrong part...

  • Hello Robert,

Pin 3 on REF3425 and REF3425-EP  is "enable".

REF3425T does Not have an enable pin.

    Hope that helps.

  • Hi Masoud,

This is not helpful because the -EP datasheet does not include a drawing for the -T version which has no enable pin. The -T version is not mentioned anywhere in the -EP datasheet.

I have a major incident here because I looked at the -EP datasheet which only shows the enable pin. So there are now 200 devices fitted to boards that need an enable. Of course the engineer gets the blame!

    -Rob

  • Hello Rob,

-T version is only offered in industrial version and not offered as -EP. That is why you do not see in the -EP datasheet.

    Hope that helps.

  • Hi Masoud,

I think you are right and the confusion comes from a part listed on Mouser.com, as REF3425MDBVTEP

The combination of -T and -EP confused me and our sub-contractor.
We can close this thread, but I will still test the parts before they are placed, as a mistake will be very costly both in money and my reputation!
I hope for all our sakes that the drought in small semiconductors ends soon. The drought in micros is yet another story...
