TPS22810: Questions of TPS22810

Part Number: TPS22810

Dear Team,

I want to know how much inrush current can TPS22810DBVR sustain?

If the Vout max is 5.25V and the CL is about 221uF, how much CT do you suggest?

Could you also provide the equation of CT soft-start time?

I want to know the soft-start time when I use 47nF, thanks~

Thanks~

Jimmy

  • Hello Jimmy,

You can calculate the output slew rate using the equation in section 9.3.4 if the capacitance on CT < 1nF, otherwise the table should suffice. If you were to use 47000 pF then it would have a very long rise time (~3905uS gathered by creating a linear equation using the data in the table). The inrush current that is acceptable is the max current the device can handle:

If you're using the DRV package you would need a rise time of 400uS at least to keep it under 3A; however, you can use 10nF on the CT pin (864 uS rise time) to limit the inrush current down to ~1.34A.

You can use the inrush current calculation to figure this out.
