TPS2359: Can this part support 12V/40A?

Hi team,

This is Jayden. My customer wants to use TPS2359 to monitor and control dual-channel 12V/40A circuit. I just want to check can this part support 40A current limit? If not, do you have a socket to recommend? Many thanks.

Hi Avishek,

Sorry, I do not have the customer block diagram now because it is new application for our field team. They just want to check whether it can support 50A current limit because as described in DS "The 12-V channels use external sense resistors that typically lie in the range of 4 - 10 mΩ. ".

So I think the device is recommended to support 10A-25A, right?

Hi Jayden,

Extremely sorry for the delay in getting back to you. TPS2359 can be used in 50 A/12 V system. It has enough gate pull down strength to turn off two (2) MOSFETs in parallel during any fault.

R_SNS can be reduced to have 50 A of current limit. Please let me know if you have any more query.
