TPS22950: Stencil Thickness

Hello,

My customer's standard stencil thickness is 4 mils. The TPS22950 datasheet has 3 mils. Is it okay to use a 4 mil thick stencil with this part?

Hi Brian,

As discussed via email, if the stencil thickness is changed to 4 mil, (0.1mm rather than 0.075mm), the area aspect ratio will drop to 0.47 making it very difficult to print.

One option you can consider is to build a step down stencil. That is to etch the stencil for this device area thinner while other locations maintain 4 mil, however this usually raises the overall cost.
