Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS542A50,
Does the buck regulator allow for a 3.3V output? I feel like there is conflicting information on this. On the datasheet right after table 5 it says, "For higher output voltages additional phase boost can be achieved by adding a feed forward capacitor (C6) in parallel with R5". I believe the capacitor being referenced is the wrong one. Are there any guidelines when choosing the feed forward capacitor?
When choosing an inductor using equation 5 from this application note: Basic Calculation of a Buck Converter's Power Stage (Rev. B) I get a minimum value of 4.29uH, however, I'm not sure this component is recommended. (The current being 3A, 40% ripple current.)
From this application note you can see that a higher output is achievable A Practical Approach to Higher Output Voltage Applications for I2C Based DC/DC C, (Table 2, code 50, binary 10100010, hex B2, vout 3.30), but I just wanted to double check if this was possible only using external components, and what guidelines to choose said components should I use?
Is this something I can simulate in PSpice, with the model provided? Or this model only for 1.87V output?
Thanks!
