TPS65000: inductance and capacitance calculate

Part Number: TPS65000

dear

The inductance and capacitance are calculated. According to the formula in DS, the inductance value is 4.8 uh and the capacitance value is 0.39 uf, which is quite different from the recommended value (2.2 uh, 10 UF) .

1. Is there an error in the calculation?

2. If there is no problem with the calculation, do you choose by the calculated value or the recommended value? Our application is as follows: input voltage = 3.3 V output voltage = 0.9 v load current-200 ma ripple voltage estimate = 0.9 * 0.01 = 0.009 v

any advice?thanks in advance

  • Hi Raymond,

It is recommended to use capacitor and inductor values within the recommended operating conditions range outlined in the datasheet:

"Larger or smaller inductor values in the range of 1.5 μH to 3.3 μH can optimize the performance of the device for specific operation conditions"

The inductor ripple current equation in the datasheet is meant to calculate the inductor current ripple, not the inductance value.

    Thanks,

    Daniel W
