My design is based on the Thunderbolt 4 Gorilla Creek TI88. The attachment is a jpt file. Currently, the test has found TDA. 2.2.3 BMC PROT SEQ DRSWAP project failed. Is this failed project normal in this design? How can I fix it?

I don't believe that this is a known issue, but I reached out to intel to confirm. 

I took a look at your project file, is there anyway you can test again and try and enabling process swap to DFP?

I will also go ahead and see if I see the same failure on my end on an EVM. 

This is the VIF i'm comparing the project file too. I see that process swap to DFP is set to supported in VIF but not checked off in the .pjt.

Thank you for your reply. For all the information in the project file pjt, we strictly follow Intel's Gorilla Creek TI88 design, so it is not recommended to modify the configuration inside. The Process Swap to DFP and initiate Swap to DFP options in pjt are not checked by default, and if checked, it will cause functional issues.

From the attached Gorilla Creek TI88 product architecture, it can be seen that it has 4 ports, one UFP for connecting computers, and 3 DFPs for connecting devices such as USB drives. Therefore, its UFP and DFP are fixed, and the product design does not support swapping,

If the firmware is set to support swapping, it can cause problems with the computer connection being unsuccessful or causing the computer to crash. However, the VIF exported from this pjt shows support, and the exported VIF is inconsistent with the actual settings, resulting in a test failure. Can you investigate how to solve it?

You can also use the firmware configuration tool to select Gorilla Creek and export VIF to see if it is consistent。

If you also have Gorilla Creek TI88 EVM, you can also use the default firmware configuration and export VIF testing to compare whether this project is normal. Looking forward to your reply, thank you for your understanding and support.

I communicated with Intel last night and they replied that this issue can be ignored in Ti 83 silicon. As far as I know, this issue should be addressed in Ti 88.
Please notify Ti about this issue.

 For TDA.2.2.3 BMC PROT SEQ DRSWAP test failure, perhaps it may be similar to TPS65983:  TPS65983B: TPS65983B Fails GRL PD Tests - Interface forum - Interface - TI E2E support forums 

I am not sure whether the project fail of TPS65988DK is also known and acceptable. for your reference

Thanks for the detailed update!

I agree that since you are using the default template for these reference designs you should make no further modifications to the project file.

I don't have a gorilla creek reference design, but I did order a TPS65988DK EVM so that I can go ahead and try out some of the tests and report back to you tomorrow.

I also took a look at that thread that you posted. I will go ahead and bring this up to intel tomorrow and see if I can get a conclusion to your issue to see if it is a legitimate fail or if it can be ignored.

I assume that you are using the correct FW, but can you double check that you are using F907.14.14. That should be the latest release of the TPS65988DK firmware.

Thank you for your reply. I have confirmed that the firmware version of the TPS65988DK I am currently using is the latest F907.14.14, which was created using GUI 6.3.6 tool. If you have any latest updates after communicating with Intel, please let me know promptly.
