LM5106: LM5106 does Half bridge and Synch Buck?

Part Number: LM5106

Hi,
The LM5106 claims to be able to drive both Half Bridge and Synch Buck.

LM5106

However, the strategy is different for those two.....Half bridge needs HO and LO to be equal in time, Synch Buck does not.
Do you know what  is meant?
The waveforms shown in datasheet are Half Bridge, not synch Buck.

  • Hi Andrew,

Thank you for reaching out! LM5106 takes a single input and generates a complementary output signal. The programmable dead time of LM5106 can be configured to optimize the rising edge delay for the gate driver outputs. This will work for a synchronous buck application, but if controlling each output's timing separately is a priority, you can use another half-bridge driver with independently driven outputs such as LM2105. It is worth noting that controlling the outputs separately will require an additional input.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

    Best,

    Alex Weaver
