LM61480-Q1: Config LM61480 for variable output

Part Number: LM61480-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM61480

Hello,

I have a DC-DC application which requires a 4V - 20V variable output at 6A max from a 24Vdc input supply.and wish to use the LM61480 for the application. The aim is to maintain a fixed 4V dropout voltage to a linear regulation stage that follows the DC-DC to get a very clean supply source while limiting dissipationThe datasheet examples only mention a fixed output configs using a voltage divider for the FB pin, but we wish to have it variable.

The options are to drive the FB pin using an OPAMP which feeds additional current into the Rfbb as required for the o/p or make the Rfbb resistor variable.

1. Is such an implementation possible with the LM61480? if not, any other device we can consider?

2. Which of the two is a better / recommended scheme and any examples available for the same?

Thanks and regards,
Tanmay.
