TPS74801: Vbias-Vout<1.6V

Hi Team,

Using the same supply for both BIAS and IN inputs

Vin=Vbias=3.3V

Vout=1.8V

Iout=0.5A

What's issue with this design?

    Hi Allen,

    The device is in VBIAS dropout in this case. VBIAS dropout is a little different than normal VIN dropout; at no load the VOUT is normally at its target, but load regulation is very poor so will droop significantly with loading. VBIAS PSRR is also significantly reduced in this case.
