TPS628513: Performance difference between TPS628513 and TPS628503

Part Number: TPS628513
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS628503

Hi

Could you please tell me about performance difference between TPS628513 and TPS628503?

Is there a performance difference between TPS628513 and TPS628503?

For example, if the same constants such as output capacitor and inductor are used for both circuits,

the transient response and output ripple voltage are pretty much equaly?

Thank you.

  • Hello Keisuke,

    Thank you for using E2E,

Could you please tell me about performance difference between TPS628513 and TPS628503?

In TPS628513 the switching frequency is fixed to 2.25MHz and you have an option to vary the soft-start time by using Css as mentioned in the datasheet, section 9.4.7.

In TPS628503 the soft-start time is fixed to 1ms and the you have an option to define the switching frequency, compensation and spread spectrum clocking as mentioned in the datasheet, section 9.3.2.

For example, if the same constants such as output capacitor and inductor are used for both circuits,

the transient response and output ripple voltage are pretty much equaly?

For this you need to select the same switching frequency and compensation setting as TPS628513 which is compensation setting 1 in table-9 in the datasheet.

To achieve this Rcf should be 8kOhm.

    Thank you & regards,

    Moheddin.
