TLV707: What is power up time of TLV70726 after VIN is powered up to 3.3V?

Part Number: TLV707

Hello guys,

One of my customers is considering using TLV70726 for their next products.
At this moment, they have the following questions.
Could you please give me your reply?

Q.
What is power up time of TLV70726 after VIN is powered up to 3.3V?
They want to know how much time taken from VIN 3.3V powered up to VOUT 1V exceeding.

Is there any calculation way?

Your reply would be much appreciated.

Best regards,
Kazuya.

  • Hello guys,

I'm sorry. I forgot to tell you TLV70726 output capacitor value in the customer case.
They are going to attach 8uF capacitor to between VOUT-GND.

Your reply would be much appreciated.

    Best regards,
    Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya,

The TLV707 has a start up time of ~100us. This is listed on the Data Sheet:

Also, there is a startup waveform shown on the EVM User Guide:

The time is expected to stay within the same range even with higher Cout.

  • Hi Edgar,

Thank you very much for your reply.

I think the startup time in the electrical characteristics table means time from EN assertion.
The customer want to know startup time from VIN voltage powered up rapidly. (In this case, EN pin is connected to VIN)

I think the startup time they want to know is longer than EN assertion case.

Could you give me your comments?

    Thank you and best regards,
    Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya,

Typically, if EN=VIN, then the startup will remain the same.

There is no proper way to calculate this. I could go ahead and get an EVM and make a measurement to provide a better estimate. The EVM comes populated with the 2.8V Vout option, is this ok in the case I cant get ahold of TLV70726?

What is the expected rise time for Vin?

  • Hi Edgar,

Thank you very much for your kind reply.

The 2.8V version is fine, so could you please measure startup time from VIN powered up using the EVM?
Their expected rise time of Vin is 500us.
Also they connect EN terminal to Vin

If you need any additional information, please let me know.

Thank you again and best regards,
    Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya,

    Thank you for the confirmation.

I will respond once I collect the data by the end of the day.

  • Hi Kazuya,

I apologize for the delayed response, the EVMs where modified with the 3.3Vout option and we only have the 2.85V option in house as of now.

Here is the startup time for the TLV707285:

    Ch1 Vin=Ven=3.3V with ~500us rise time

    CH2: Vout~2.85V
