TPS2553-1: Latch-off question

Part Number: TPS2553-1

Hello Sir:

We studied the datasheet and found below descriptions.

"The device remains off regardless of whether the overload condition is removed from the output. The latch-off devices remain off and do not resume normal operation until the surrounding system either toggles the enable or cycles power to the device."

Does it mean device keep turned off the output(pin6)?

Even if removed the output load device will not recover output.

Until the enable pin (pin3) has a disable to enable process which device will turn on output again.

Or until removed input voltage(pin1) then re-attached input voltage process which device will turn on output again.

Please let us know our understanding is correct or not.
If you have a waveform for reference that will be better for us.
Looking forward your feedback.
Thanks a lot.

  • Hi Statham,

Yes, it mean keep turn of the output even you remove the shorted or overload condition. And if you want to re-start the output, you can use both ways just like you mention--'The latch-off devices remain off and do not resume normal operation until the surrounding system either toggles the enable or cycles power to the device.' Thank you.

    Best Regards,

    Kuno
