LM74720-Q1: Iq test for LM74720

Part Number: LM74720-Q1

Hi team,

As it is shown in datasheet in LM74720-Q1 that the total system quiescent current is less than 35uA. Can I know the test setup and how you get the value? What is EN signal set when testing the Iq?.

May customer test the supply current in idle mode, but find the current is much higher than 35uA. They have already set the EN to 2V, but seems no help.

Another question from customer is that, it is shown in datasheet that connect EN to A or C pin, then the device consumes an Iq of 35uA. Need customer repeat this condition? Thanks!

Regards,

Xiaoying

  • Hi Xiaoying,

Quiescent current , Iq is the current drawn by the IC when it is enabled (EN= HIGH). To measure quiescent current of the IC, customer can pull EN high and measure the current flowing out of the IC GND pin.

Measuring input current is not the correct method to measure Iq as it can have other components of current such as the current flowing through the OV resistor ladder (R78, R79), etc..
