Hi,
1. If the PORT pin is set to pulldown, will it work as DRP?
The circuit is based on page 30 "8.2.4 Typical Application, UFP Port" of the data sheet.
I received a report that I was behaving like a DRP with Type_C_State_Machine of the Vendor Info File in the USB compliance test.
I also received a report that "DUT(Device Under Test) toggles Rp/Rd to assert, and DUT seems to be DRP instead of Sink."
2. I think it works with UFP, is this understanding correct?
Best Regards,
Nishie
Hi Brian-san,
Thank you for your support.
I understand it's UFP.
In the Vendor Info File for the USB compliance exam, "Type_C_State_Machine," I selected Sink.
https://www.usb.org/document-library/usb-vendor-info-file-generator
But the result was FAILE.
The following content was FAILE, do you know the cause?
---------------------------------
・TD.4.1.2 Unpowered CC Voltage - Testing Upstream Port
->All FAILED, CC voltage must be in vOPEN range
・TD.4.3.1 Sink Connect Source - Testing Upstream Port
->"Removing VBUS" : FAILED, PUT must not toggle between Rd/Rp
・TD.4.3.4 Sink Connect Try.SNK DRP - Testing Upstream Port
->"Entering Try.SNK" : FAILED, PUT must constantly advertise Rd
->termination for 150 ms
"Entering TryWait.SRC " : FAILED, PUT must constantly advertise Rd termination for 100 ms

Nishie:
did customer use I2C? do you have detailed test report?
best
Brian
Hi Brian-san,
I will check with the customer about I2C and test report.
Let me check one more thing.
Have other customers passed the USB compliance test (UFP) for products using HD3SS3220?
Best Regards,
Nishie
Hi Brian-san,
we passed USB compliance for our CC controller.
->Thank you for your reply.
I will check with the customer about I2C and test report.
->Customer do not use I2C to connect SDA/OUT1 and SCL/OUT2 pins.
A resistance of 200kOhm is used to pull up to 5 V(VDD5).
Best Regards,
Nishie
can you send schematic for review?
When port pin is low, did you see CC pin toggling as well.?
Best
brian
Hi Brian-san,
Would it be possible for a customer to email Brian-san directly with detailed compliance test results and schematics?
Best Regards,
Nishie
Hi, Brian-san,
Our customer just sent you an email.
I appreciate your assistance in this matter.
