Hi,
I had the following questions regarding this IC:
1. The I2C pins of the PSPICE model for TPS55288 don't work, so how can I simulate the dynamic voltage output in PSPICE?
2. When trying to simulate TPS55288 on Webench for a specific voltage and current output, the results are erratic. Kindly guide me there.
3. Can TPS55288 provide two voltage outputs?
4. Can the Boost mode of TPS55288 be disabled or enable based on based on source battery power?
Hi Shwetanshu,
Thanks for reaching out. May I know the product type and application here?
Pleas see my comments below:
1. Sorry the PSpice model doesn't contain I2C function, please order a pcs EVM for test if needed.
2. What is the input voltage range, output voltage and max output current? Can you reply with your Webench link?
3. No. It only has one output port. What is your target here?
4. No, the operation mode (Buck or Boost or Buck-Boost) is determined by Vin/Vout voltage, it can't be programmed.

Bryce
Hi Bryce,
Thanks for your reply.
My input range for WeBench simulation is 8-16V and I ran the simulations for 3 different outputs: 5V at 3A, 9V at 3A and 20V at 3.25A.
WeBench link: Power Designer (ti.com)
As you can the output voltage does not stabilize at the specified voltage.
Is there a dual output variant for this IC? Or any other ICs with programmable operation mode?
Thanks
Shwetanshu
Hi Shwetanshu,
When I open the link, it is TPS55330 inside. Please use the link below, the operation range is ok for TPS55288.

No, we don't have dual output Buck-Boost right now, you will need two pcs Buck-Boost device for that.
The operation mode is determined by input and output voltage ratio, it can't be programmed. For example, if Vout=20V, Vin=12V, it doesn't make sense if you program the IC to work at Buck mode.

Bryce
Hi Bryce,
The link you sent is not working. Since my link does not show the TPS55288. I am attaching the pdf file of simulation results.WBDesign13_Input Transient-2.pdfWBDesign13_Steady State-1.pdf
Hi Shwetanshu,
The webench simulation results are incorrect, we will report this to Webench team. But this device is ok for your application, one output port.

Bryce
