Hello TI,

I am using the slave I2C interface.

I am stuck in the same problem as this thread (which was never answered publicly):

1) How to re-trigger the patch loading?

2) Why is there no reference driver for this? TI should at least have 1 example project on how to do this.

Please post a simple C function (or python or anything) on how to use the patch loader, and how to get it back in patch mode again.

In general I must say that this is probably the worst data-sheet and/or manual I have seen in a long time. The data-sheet and the "Host Interface" manual are full of odd undefined terms and wording, and the example "code in the "Host interface" manual is more or less unusable.

Please help.

Good Morning Pedro,

I have attached flow diagrams for each PBM command, as well as example I2C transactions.

I have reached out to our firmware team to see if the patch can be loaded more than once from an external controller. I will provide you feedback on that point by Friday at the latest.

Hi Conner,

Thanks for the fast and concrete feedback. I will look at the info right away!

To be honest, the best thing you could do about the documentation would be to have a full reference schematic and a simple code snippet that shows how to do the most common operations. Most simple ICs are hard to use without an example, even if the docs are OK.

However, good and fast response beats everything. Thanks!

Writing example code for the patch burst mode has been on my to-do list for a minute now, but based on your and others feedback I'll move up its priority. Once I get started, I'll be able to give you a more firm timeline as to its completion.

As far as using the GO2P command more than once, if you want to use it a second time you will need to issue the GAID command to reset the device first and then issue GO2P.

Super. Sending the GO2P after GAID works like a charm. Super.

So using address 0x21 on I2C and 0x10 for patch address works with GAID & GO2P every time. Nice.

On to my next issue: e2e.ti.com/.../tps25750-pd-identity-packet-is-wrong
