TPS3422: Reset time tTIMER

Part Number: TPS3422

Hello,

I was wondering how long it takes for the tTIMER to reset to 0s after beeing held for 5s for example. I.e. how long does it take until a new tTIMER can be started?

Thank you and best regards,

Ambroise

  • Hi Ambroise,

Thank you for your question. After reset is asserted, it must wait at least trst time (typ 400 ms) for reset to be able to be asserted again. After this trst time, the device can detect a reset again.

Another reminder too is that the device requires at least one of the inputs to go high momentarily after the device has deasserted for it to assert a reset again, i.e. if you hold the push button inputs low without releasing them, the device will assert a reset for trst time, deassert, and be unable to assert another reset until one of the push button inputs is pulled high again.

    This diagram illustrates this fact.

    Hope this helps,

  • Hi Joshua

To clarify, is the 400ms also needed if no reset has been asserted?

    Thank you and best regards,

    Ambroise

  • Hi Ambroise,

Correct, if no reset is asserted, there will be no 400 ms of reset time. In this case, all that would be necessary to assert a reset is continuously holding low PB1 and PB2 for at least tTimer time.

    Thank you,
