Hello,

I would like to ask you a question about the LP55231.
(Question 1)
If the charge pump circuit is always used in bypass (1×) mode,
Are external capacitors C1 and C2 unnecessary?
(Question 2)
Regarding PWM control, the data sheet says 12 bits,
Why is the register setting 8 bits?

Hi Kaji,

For your questions:

1) Yes, you can remove the C1/C2 if only use bypass mode.

2) The 12-bits PWM in generated by integrated algorithm, and the 8-bits register is for user configuration.

However, I don't understand the answer to Question 2.
The datasheet also states:
It is said that it has 12-bit internal resolution, but is it possible to set 3 bits other than 8 bits?
