TPS7A11: Input and output voltage issues

Part Number: TPS7A11

In the recommended circuit of TPS7A1108, the VIN VOUT is 0.2V, but it is suggested to be greater than 0.5V. Is this a contradiction or other issue? Could you please help to answer it?

  • Hello,

If your application operates under steady state conditions, 200mV is enough headroom (Vin - Vout) for you.  If your application operates under transient conditions, as with all LDOs more headroom is recommended.  For the TPS7A11 the device was characterized with 500mV of headroom in transient conditions.

Steady state conditions only need this much headroom to keep the device from entering dropout:

The device was characterized with 500mV for transient conditions:

    Thanks,
