BQ25601D: How to limit the Vin and Iin in DPM?

Hi team,

I want to check with you that how dose BQ25601D limit the input current and voltage in DPM?

For VINDPM, from my understand the VIN is limited by reducing current, but I don't know how to reduce the current. Does it implemented by increase Rds(on) of FET?

Hi,

DPM prevents overloading the input current by reducing the charging current. It does not limit the input current directly.

Hi,

The charger does not limit charging current, it regulates the charging current lower in DPM by control loop.

Hi,

Change the PWM duty cycle through the control loop, and then change the voltage, and then change the current after the voltage is changed, right?

Hi,

The charger is basically a step-down DC-DC converter which may either be constant voltage source or constant current source. The charger can regulate voltage or regulate current. Please refer to Figure 9-2. Battery Charging Profile for the details.
