My customer's application is for 12V car, find a solution to pass the polarity/inrush protection.

Can LM74501-Q1 adding some external component pass 12V@500W polarity/inrush protection?

    Hi Henry,

    To achieve reverse polarity protection and inrush current control you will need two FETs in back-to- back configuration. Hence you  will need a controller like LM74502-Q1 which can drive two FETs as shown below. This device can drive multiple FETs in parallel for high current application and hence is suitable for your requirement.
