BQ25601D: Shiping Mode issue

Hello,

We are using BQ25601RTWR IC for battery charging.

Problem statement: If external charger is connected (charging is on) and BATFET_DIS bit is set by I2C; then ship mode of the BQ25601RTWR IC is enabled.

But when external charger is not connected (charging is off) and BATFET_DIS bit is set by I2C then BQ25601RTWR Ic is resetting itself.(Device is not turning off BATFET and shipping mode is not enabled).

As per the datasheet BQ25601RTWR IC should enter in shipping mode whenever BATFET_DIS bit is set.

How to enable shipping mode, when external charger is not connected (charging is off) to BQ25601RTWR Ic?

Please help to resolve this issue.

Hi Ashish,

Even when input supply to VBUS is disconnected BATFET_DIS can still be set via I2C on BQ25601. You mention you observe BATFET not turning off, have you confirmed that you can communicate with the device via I2C when input supply is removed (charging is off)? What is the pullup rail for your SCL and SDA lines?

Hello Garrett,

The Problem is solved. Actually the enable pin of BQ25601 was pulled up by Vbus not VBAT. I connected it with VBAT and it worked.
